Youth Action Society of Central Florida began in 2019 under the leadership of the Homeless Services Network of Central Florida and Continuum of Care cohort. As the first youth action board in Central Florida, we strive to build a stronger and safer community by using our lived experience to influence how resources are implemented and by ensuring services are meeting the needs of all young people who need them the most - Youth and Young Adults aged 16 - 24.

LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT
Offering expertise in lived experience to the Continuum of Care for the development of the region-wide system of care for Youth & Young Adults.
RECONSTRUCTION
Analyzing the current Systems of Care for Youth & Young Adult homelessness by reviewing related data, consulting with stakeholders, community leaders, and members of the broader community to inform about the harsh realities of existing gaps within the system.
EDUCATION
Improve the Continuum of Care's present knowledge and capacity towards resources that directly target challenges facing homeless Youth & Young Adults.
ACCOUNTABILITY
Holding community stakeholders, partners, and most importantly ourselves accountable to shared commitments and goals aimed at improving the system of care for Youth & Young Adults experiencing homelessness.

YAS is always working to add new members. Participating in YAS means gaining new friends and adding to your support system. YAS is a safe space to be vulnerable, to gain knowledge about youth homelessness, the legislation against and for the homeless, and to actively work to reconstruct how the barriers harm the unhoused. YAS provides workshops on various life skills and connects with service providers to volunteer and build their local presence in Central Florida.
